Cawrey Homes have revised the design of their new homes in Ratby, near Leicester.  The new range of homes includes 2 & 3 Bed semi-detached and 4 Bed detached homes, distinctly different in appearance and delivering high environmental performance.

Our New Homes in Ratby are designed to meet Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and are distinctly different to most new-build homes in the UK.  The large , South facing windows fill the rooms with light as well as taking full advantage of warmth from Solar Gain throughout the year.  Air Source Heat Pumps deliver hot water and heating to underfloor pipework on the ground floor and radiators to the first floor.  Heat losses are reduced by highly insulated ground floors, 200mm wide filled wall cavities and highly insulated, ‘green’ (sedum) roof.  The roof fin provides passive ventilation to reduce overheating in the Summer and carries solar Photovoltaic panels to generate electricity, surplus power being exported to the grid via the Feed in Tariff.   High quality kitchen installations include energy efficient appliances. 

Externally there are 2 car spaces to the house frontage, boundaries are fenced, with shrubs to the front gardens and a slabbed patio and turf to the rear.
